Our fantastic son Joseph is on the Autistic spectrum and I have set myself a challenge inspired by him. Between the 17th & 30th November 2011 I will be trekking through the Himalayan Mountains of India, crossing high mountain passes of 2700M and dense forest into Tibet. It is expected to be extremely testing physically and we will be camping in remote and dramatic conditions. The event and the months of preparation will be tough but I am doing this in order to help increase awareness and raise funds for children with autism and aspergers.
Last Friday I had my first serious training session with Julia and the dogs!
Five hours later having walked up Salcombe Hill, all along Sidmouth Beach and back we were thoroughly exhausted, muddy & wet and so were the dogs!
They say a journey of a million miles begins with a single step, but not only did you start with a 5 mile trek up hill and down dale, but you managed to not call in at any of the pubs on the way!!!!!
